BM Associate area
Admission criteria for Associate Members are defined by the Executive Committee of the College. These criteria aim to ensure that only non-veterinary scientists of international repute who are active in the field of Behavioural Medicine are admitted as Associate Members. Associate members are invited to apply by the BM- Credentialing é Recertification Sub Committee.

Criteria for Associate membership
- Experience:
An eligible candidate should have at least ten years of experience in Behavioural Medecine. - Publications:
An eligible candidate should have published at least ten original articles in internationally peer-reviewed journals relevant to BM as first author (NB not sole author), or joint author. They should submit a list of their publications preferably along with their impact factors. The list can include non-peer reviewed articles, review articles, and proceedings abstracts as example of their ability to communicate their findings. Applicants are expected to confirm that the articles have been peer reviewed. Other forms of work may be acceptable e.g. peer reviewed book chapters etc. - They should be an active member of a national or international professional society, where such a society exists e.g. the ESVCE, AVSAB etc.
- All suitably qualified persons should be interested in furthering the aims of the ECAWBM (BM) and should make a brief statement about how they would envisage how they would do that. They are also invited to suggest ways in which the College may be able to help them.
Re-registration
Recertification process:

The candidate will be notified by the Chair of the BM Credentials Subcommittee of their need to re-register in the December of the calendar year preceding ( link email: heath@brvp.co.uk - Re-registration form
The candidate needs to complete the Application Form for re-registering.

The completed application and letters of reference should be sent by e-mail to: secretarybm@ecawbm.org and copied to the chair of the ECAWBM BM Credentialing Committee on heath@brvp.co.uk
The candidate will receive feedback on the decision of their application by the date published in the re-registration timeline. - Payment of re-registration fee

Why do supervisors have a key role?
Being a supervisor is an important task that carries responsibilities to both: to the College and to the residents. The overall objective of supervising a resident is that the knowledge, skills and attitudes of a resident will be developed, and the necessary level of competence obtained.
What does the ECAWBM expect from you as a Supervisor?
The College expects that supervisors will ensure that Residents will
- gain the necessary practical experience during their residency in a standard programme or as a resident pursuing the alternative route.
- produce a sufficient number and quality of publications.
- stand a good chance of resp. being approved by the Credentialing Subcommittee as well passing all parts of the examination.
